The guys

Mel – vocals

Mel’s background started in acting, and she has played lead roles in many an amateur play. She started singing professionally at the later age of 21, and was in the cabaret duo ‘Fusion’ for 7 years performing hits from the 1970’s to present day, and during this time was support act for many 60’s and 70’s bands including the reformed ‘The Sweet’ and ‘Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Titch’.

Mel then went on to carve out a less hectic occasional solo career, much easier to manage with 2 young children, before stepping up in the last couple of years to do some live musical theatre with Ipswich Operatic Society, most notably performing at the Ipswich Regent in ‘The Witches Of Eastwick’ and in April 2014 will be appearing there again in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.

Fave bands over the years:

Mel is influenced by Blondie, Tina Turner, Jessie J, and secretly also loves a bit of Britney Spears. (Don’t tell the band!)

Cliff – lead guitar and vocals

Cliff has been playing in bands for 50 years. Cliff’s influences are covered by many genres including pop, rock, funk, but his main influences come from the 60,s and 70’s which is where he considers the music scene really started. The music that the band plays has changed the style in which Cliff plays guitar to give a full sound as a 3 piece band and has proved challenging but very rewarding.

Cliff has played in Europe, played at Knebworth, and on the Mecca circuit gaining considerable experience.

Lee – bass guitar and vocals

Lee has been playing bass since his music teacher noticed he had unfeasibly long arms and could reach the tuning pegs.

Since the age of 14 he has been extolling the virtues of the 4 stringed tool of ignorance. First in his schools maiden ‘rock’ band, then in various pub and function bands around and about his home town of Colchester.  Lee runs a monthly blues jam in Colchester, as well as guesting in house bands all over Essex and Suffolk.  His claim to fame is that his uncle played with Howling Wolf.
